Overview

Indonesia Integrated Community Driven Development (ICDD) Phase III Project (ICDD) Phase III Project aims to achieve sustainable improvement in the well-being of poorer communities through community empowerment. The project supports the 3rd Medium Term Development Plan 2010-2014 (supporting three priority areas of poverty reduction), the Strategy for Urban Development and the Government of Indonesia’s Policy for the wider PNPM Mandiri program. The project is also in line with the Agriculture and Rural Development pillar of the MCPS for Indonesia as well as the IDB Vision 1440H.

Since the inception of ICDD Phase I, IDB has helped the PNPM Mandiri program to gradually shift from Community Empowerment to Economic Empowerment. For ICDD Phase II, the project strengthened the economic activities with the Livelihood Enhancement Program, increasing the revolving funds provided under Phase I and introducing livelihood capacity building to the SHGs in more than 500 villages. Under Phase III, the Livelihood Enhancement Program will be expanded to another 700 villages and the project will introduce pilot Business Development Centers at the District level to help provide market access for products and services in 10-15 districts.
