The Reconstruction and Upgrading of State University of Padang project is consistent and relevant to the IDB Vision 1440H (2020G) since it strengthens the national science and technological capabilities through increasing enrollment capacity and improving quality assurance of teaching and learning at the University. It is also aligned with the Education Sector strategy of the Government of Indonesia as it aims at improving the access and quality of higher education to produce graduates who could fill the gap of increased employment and market opportunities.

The project improves the physical learning and teaching environment by rehabilitating and reconstructing the IT Center, Rectorate & Research Center, Integrated Laboratory, Auditorium, Professional Teacher’s Training Center, Student Center and Business Center, along with support infrastructure such as roads, electricity connection, waste disposal, etc.

It also supports the quality and relevance of the University by updating the curricula, supporting research activities, provision of laboratory equipment, upgrading the skills of the teaching and non-teaching staff and strengthening the cooperation between the University and labor market.
